Category Archives: Roller surface

This is the surface the roller is used on. It will be strongly related to the nap size.

Terracotta Green 21 mm

This roller is a impressive roller for all outside jobs and even ceilings . We receive comments like” very versatile roller” and “we used it on everything”. The fabric is very durable. The fabric keeps its volume when loaded up and does not flatten.

This type is now the most popular long nap fabric This Green Terracotta fabric is made from poly-amide 66 which is specially treated to give the fibres a spring-type feature so it holds it shape better. After production of the fabric the twisted fibres are opened up to increase the active surface of the fibres. It holds therefore up to 30% more paint than similar fabrics.

Poly-amid 66 or PA6/6 is an aliphatic semi-crystalline homo-poly amide ( Alifatic  is from the greek word for fat, oil). It is know for high strength, stiffness, chemical resistance for hydrocarbons, heat resistant and wear resistance and high water absorption. Poor resistance resistance though to acids and bases. For more detailed information see the Terracotta 21mm  Fabric Information

The Terracotta Green replaces the old Red sleeve with blue line which is no longer produced by our supplier. The pinky type Multicolour sleeve is a 21 mm alternative.

If you did not try this roller yet you will miss a valuable experience.

Goldstripe original 12 mm Nap

These high quality, original Goldstripe rollers are made from stapled fibres. This fabric has a slightly better productivity due to the lager number of “fibre ends”  inside the nap. The material is poly-amide which is the same as the continuous version with one yellow line.   Stapled fabrics always need to be used for undercoat first until all loose fibres are removed. They are a logical result of the way the fabric is designed, constructed and produced.

The fabric is well know for low splatter, good coverage and easy to wash. It is a long lasting fabric designed for 500m2 but most painters get far more use out of them.

Poly amide is best for water-based paint because it’s affinity to water. The special polyester backing of this fabric makes it also suitable for oil-based paints. For more detailed information on the fabric properties and performance see our Goldstripe 12mm Fabric Information sheet.

Nylon White Rollers- 12 mm Nap

This sleeve is a top quality sleeve for epoxy flooring: This sleeve is especially used where lint is an issue. Like all rollers, work in well and your work should be virtually free of lint.

There are 2 categories of fabrics: Knitted and woven fabrics. This Nylon White is the high quality woven fabric.

Al sleeves are thermo-bonded (=melted) onto polypropylene. Excellent for harsh epoxies.

Please note that some epoxies are so aggressive that any roller will desolve in the end.   We are not aware of a better roller than the Nylon white. We also supply this fabric as a baby roller to the marine industry since it can be reused several times with very aggressive epoxy’s.

Goldstripe Rollers – 18 mm Nap

This is a unique ceiling roller. The rollers has durable, minimal splatter, absorbs well, good coverage and is easy to wash. The fibres stapled poly-amid. Stapled fibres are spun from short pieces like a woolen thread. This means the ends of the separate fibres are spread out between the bottom and the top of the nap.

The stapled fibres need extra attention before use: wash out well and next use the for undercoat to remove all lint from the manufacturing process. Not recommended for walls if the roller is not well worked in.

This roller can also be used outside but we normally recommend the terracotta for outside work.

Colour pattern:

  • White with wide yellow line  ( the 12 mm roller has yellow lines closer together)

Available Sizes:

  • 270 mm -11″
  • 360 mm -14″

Vestan Yellow Rollers 11mm Nap

This (knitted ) fabric is excellent for epoxy floor coatings: “This is the best roller I have found so far for epoxy… they are great”

The fibre is polyester. Normally not the preferred choice for epoxy flooring but it is economical. It seem to work very well for single use epoxy flooring. All sleeves are thermo-bonded which means that the fabric is melted onto the polypropylene tube.

The higher quality nylon white rollers are also used for epoxy and can be re-used. This is especially useful for the 100 mm baby rollers, used in the marine industry.
