Flat Finish Type

Terracotta Green 21 mm

This roller is a impressive roller for all outside jobs and even ceilings . We receive comments like” very versatile roller” and “we used it on everything”. The fabric is very durable. The fabric keeps its volume when loaded up and does not flatten.

This type is now the most popular long nap fabric This Green Terracotta fabric is made from poly-amide 66 which is specially treated to give the fibres a spring-type feature so it holds it shape better. After production of the fabric the twisted fibres are opened up to increase the active surface of the fibres. It holds therefore up to 30% more paint than similar fabrics.

Poly-amid 66 or PA6/6 is an aliphatic semi-crystalline homo-poly amide ( Alifatic  is from the greek word for fat, oil). It is know for high strength, stiffness, chemical resistance for hydrocarbons, heat resistant and wear resistance and high water absorption. Poor resistance resistance though to acids and bases. For more detailed information see the Terracotta 21mm  Fabric Information

The Terracotta Green replaces the old Red sleeve with blue line which is no longer produced by our supplier. The pinky type Multicolour sleeve is a 21 mm alternative.

If you did not try this roller yet you will miss a valuable experience.

Terracotta Rollers – 21 mm Nap

This roller is an improved version of the Multicolour roller. We receive comments like” very versatile roller” and “we used it on everything”. The fabric is very durable. The fabric keeps its volume when loaded up and does not flatten.

Micro fibre fabrics are only to be used for water based paints.

This fabric ( white with blue line) will be replaced by the microfiber blue ( white with speckled blue) which is identical but has a different colour pattern.

Goldstripe Rollers 12 mm Nap

These high quality, unrivalled rollers have strong support in the market. An exclusive German produced fabric, made from a continuous poly-amide fibre to reduce lint. Specially twisted during weaving and partly opened up to increase the paint holding capacity. Poly amide is best for water-based paint because it’s affinity to water. Polyester has an affinity to oil based solvents and the special polyester backing of this fabric makes it also suitable for oil-based paints.

Some experienced painters who look after the rollers use the worn-down rollers for glossing doors.

For more detailed information on the fabric properties and performance see our Goldstripe 12mm Fabric Information sheet.

The previous version of this fabric was made from a discontinuous (called stapled) fibre.  This version is now available again and has 2 yellow stripes.  We realise that some painters prefer the original fabric which seem to have a slightly better productivity due to the lager number of “fibre ends”  inside the nap. The materials in both fabrics are identical.  Stapled fabrics always need to be used for undercoat first until all loose fibres are removed. They are a logical result of the way the fabric is constructed and produced.
